What this service covers

Installation is the physical and technical work that turns supplied equipment into a working system. Depending on the job, it may include:

• Equipment mounting

  Cameras, readers, panels, detectors, energisers and enclosures fixed in the agreed positions.

• Cable routing

  Data, power and signal cabling run along practical routes for the building.

• Containment where required

  Conduit, trunking or ducting used where cabling is exposed or needs protection.

• Power connection

  Connection to the agreed power provision, including power supplies and standby batteries where used.

• Device interconnection

  Devices linked to their recorder, controller or panel so they operate as one system.

• Network connection

  Switching, IP addressing and remote-viewing connectivity where the system requires it.

• Configuration

  Recording, zones, access rules, users and notifications set up for how the site is used.

• Testing

  Devices, coverage, detection and recording checked on site before sign-off.

• Commissioning and handover

  The completed system demonstrated, with basic day-to-day operation explained.

Not every installation includes every activity. Scope depends on the system, the building and what is already in place.

Systems we install

We install the same disciplines we supply and design. Each has its own installation requirements.

• CCTV surveillance

  Camera mounting and alignment, cabling to the recorder, storage setup and remote viewing.

• Access control

  Readers, locks, exit devices and controllers fitted to doors and gates, with users enrolled.

• Electric fencing

  Energiser installation, fence-line wiring, earthing and alarm interface where used.

• Intruder alarms

  Panel, keypad, detector and siren placement, zoning and notification setup.

• Fire detection

  Panel and detection device installation, zone wiring and sounder connection.

• Intercom systems

  Door stations, indoor monitors and gate release wiring for homes and apartments.

• Networking

  Structured cabling, switching and PoE so security devices stay connected.

• Fibre optics

  Fibre runs, termination and conversion for distances copper cabling cannot cover.

When professional installation helps

• A new security system is being installed at a home, business or institution.
• An older system is being replaced because it is no longer serviceable.
• More cameras, readers or detectors are being added to an existing installation.
• Equipment is being moved to a new premises or repositioned within the site.
• Existing and new equipment need to work together — subject to what the existing equipment supports.
• A previous installation was poorly cabled, poorly positioned or never fully configured.
• Coverage is being extended to areas the current system does not reach.
• Cabling or network infrastructure needs upgrading before more devices can be added.

Whether existing equipment can be retained or integrated depends on its condition and what it supports. We confirm this before quoting.

Typical installation process

   Understand the requirement

   What the premises is, what you want covered or controlled, and any known constraints.

2. 02

   Review existing equipment

   Where equipment is already on site, we check what can be retained or reused.

3. 03

   Survey the site where needed

   Positions, cable routes, power and access are confirmed on larger or unclear sites.

4. 04

   Confirm system design and equipment

   Device count, placement, storage and network requirements are agreed.

5. 05

   Agree quotation and scope

   A written quotation stating the equipment and the installation work included.

6. 06

   Install equipment and cabling

   Mounting, cable routing, containment where required and power connection.

7. 07

   Configure and test

   Recording, zones, access rules and remote access set up and verified on site.

8. 08

   Commission and hand over

   The system demonstrated and the basics explained to whoever will use it.

Small or straightforward installations may not require every stage.

What to tell us when you enquire

None of this is mandatory, but the more of it you can share, the fewer questions we need to come back with before quoting.

• Site location

  The area or town, so travel and site access can be considered.

• Type of premises

  Home, shop, office, warehouse, school, apartment block or similar.

• System required

  CCTV, access control, fencing, alarm, fire detection, intercom, networking or a combination.

• Coverage needed

  Roughly how many devices, or which entrances, rooms or boundaries matter most.

• Existing equipment

  Anything already installed, and whether it currently works.

• Photos where useful

  Pictures of the building, gate, ceiling or existing equipment help a great deal.

• Preferred timing

  When you would like the work carried out, including any access restrictions.

• Cabling in place

  Whether conduit or cabling already exists, or whether it must be run from scratch.
