Guidance

Choosing the right intruder alarm equipment

Premises layout

The number of rooms, entrances and floors determines how many detectors are needed and where they should be positioned.

Wired or wireless

Wireless equipment suits finished buildings where cabling is difficult; wired equipment often suits new construction or renovations.

Number of zones

Grouping the premises into zones makes it clear where an activation came from, and influences the panel selected.

Detector types

Different areas call for different detectors — movement inside a room, or protection at doors and windows.

Sirens and notification

Decide whether you need an audible siren only, or notification to phones and to people responsible for the premises.

Existing systems

If an alarm is already installed, we can check what can be reused before recommending replacement equipment.

Describe the premises and the areas you want covered and we will confirm suitable equipment and installation requirements. Request advice or a site assessment.

Next step

Need help selecting alarm equipment?

Tell us the type of premises, the areas you want protected and whether an alarm is already installed. We can help identify suitable equipment and installation requirements.
