Perimeter walls alone are easy to scale, and intrusions are only discovered after entry.

An electric fence works at the boundary, before anyone reaches the building. What it can achieve depends on the wall line, the gates and how an alarm will be responded to.

What an electric fence usually includes

Perimeter systems are built from a small number of families. Quantities follow the measured boundary, not an assumption.

• Energiser

  The unit that drives the fence line, positioned where it is protected and reachable for service.

• Wire, insulators and posts

  The conductive fence line and the components that hold and isolate it along the boundary.

• Earthing

  Earth arrangements are part of the installation and affect how the fence performs.

• Alarm output and siren

  The fence condition reported to a siren or an alarm panel so a breach is noticed.

• Power and backup

  Supply arrangements and standby power so the perimeter stays live during outages.

Energiser output, zone counts and fence-line lengths are confirmed after the perimeter is measured. Warning signage and safe installation practice are part of every fence we install.

System design considerations

• Boundary layout

  Length, corners, level changes and shared walls decide how the fence line is run and how much material is needed.

• Zones

  Splitting a long perimeter into sections makes a fault or breach far quicker to locate.

• Energiser position

  The unit needs a sheltered, secure position with power and reasonable access for future service.

• Earthing

  Earthing is decided on site — soil condition and available space affect how it is installed.

• Wall and post condition

  Loose copings, old brackets and damaged walls are dealt with before the fence line is installed.

• Gates and openings

  Driveways and pedestrian gates need specific treatment so the line remains continuous and safe.

• Vegetation and site conditions

  Trees, creepers and grass touching the line cause nuisance alarms, so clearance is planned from the start.

• Alarm response

  An alarm is only useful if someone acts on it. We agree how the fence reports and who hears it.

• Maintenance

  Fence lines need periodic tensioning, cleaning and inspection to keep working as intended.
