Guidance
Choosing the right access control equipment
Number of doors
Each controlled entrance needs its own reader and locking arrangement, so the door count shapes the equipment list and the cabling.
User population
How many staff, tenants or visitors will use the system affects the type of terminal and how enrolment is handled.
Biometric, card or keypad
Different sites suit fingerprint, card or PIN entry — or a combination — depending on how people move through the premises.
Attendance reporting
If you need staff attendance records as well as door control, tell us so we can recommend equipment that supports reporting.
Locking hardware
The door type — timber, steel, glass or gate — determines which electric lock or strike is appropriate.
Standalone or networked
A single door can run standalone; multiple doors managed centrally need a networked arrangement and suitable cabling.
Share your door list and user numbers and we will confirm suitable readers, locks and installation requirements. Request advice or a site assessment.
Next step
Need help selecting access control equipment?
Tell us how many doors you want to control, how many users you have and whether you need attendance records. We can help identify suitable equipment and installation requirements.
